The candle has a scent that's both frank and subtle, a beautiful, bewitching blend of scents.
As far as I'm concerned - and we all know how subjective this is - the scent is almost entirely balsamic, sweet and warm, without the woody, resinous notes I was looking for, which disconcerted me at first, but this candle is worth 5 stars for what I sense in it: mystery and magic. In fact, it's a wonderful discovery that will find its way into my home!
