Why use a vegetable wax candle? 

We use 100% vegetable wax for the Cotton Flower scented candle. This wax is selected for its combustion and diffusion qualities: it reveals the notes of Cotton Flower with precision.

NATURALNESS 

Our candle contains wax that is 100% vegetable-based, but is it natural?
Absolutely! Natural wax can be made from mineral or vegetal ingredients.
The difference? 

Vegetable wax, extracted from plants such as soy or rice, is biodegradable and has the advantage of releasing no black smoke when burned. 

Mineral wax, made from kerosene, is often used to make candles. It has several advantages: it's readily available, colorless and odorless. On the other hand, it is non-renewable. In a more eco-responsible approach, all the candles in this collection are made from 100% vegetable wax, derived from soy and sunflower. What better way to scent your home than with a beautiful, natural, eco-designed, hand-crafted candle?

How to use a scented candle 

First tip: place the candle on a heat-resistant surface. Make sure the wick is straight, then light it with a lighter or match. Each time you use the candle, let it burn for at least 3-4 hours, until all the vegetable wax has become liquid on the surface. This will prevent the candle from hollowing out and forming a well around the wick. Never leave the lit wick in contact with the edge of the candle, and check that the wick is straight and centered when you extinguish it. This ensures even consumption of the candle wax. 

How to extinguish a candle? 

Simply dip the lit wick into the liquid wax. This will extinguish the candle immediately, without smoke or odour. Then straighten the wick. 

Why cut the wick of a candle? 

Before each use, trim the wick by 5 mm to ensure optimum burning. If the wick is too high, the flame may give off black smoke. 

Will the candle’s glass container get hot? 

Like any combustion-producing candle, the glass container will get hot after several hours of use.
There is no risk for the surface or piece of furniture on which your candle is placed. We do recommend waiting for the candle to cool before moving it and keeping it out of the reach of children and pets.
